Cruise at the Beach: Ruby's in Redondo Beach, Ca.

The Ruby's Diner in Whittier isn't the only restaurant in the famous chain that attracts hot rods on Friday nights.  The only thing that could make a cruise night at Ruby's better is what the Redondo Beach location has to offer... hot rods and the ocean!Split fins are irresistible to me, which is why I couldn't stop staring at this 1959 Pontiac Star Chief.  With 126,000 miles, this vintage beauty is all original, and has spent the last 35 years as a daily driver, taking "a little old lady to work at the Air Force Base, to the store, and to church."  The car has only had two owners: grandmother and grandson!With so many high-quality hot rods at this cruise night, it was a delight to see stunning engine compartments that matched the exterior beauty of these cars.It's not often that an Amphicar turns out at a show or cruise night - the last one we saw was at La Verne's Cool Cruise.  How appropriate that we see this Amphicar at a show just steps from the beach!What better way to end our coverage of this Cruise at the Beach than with this classy Chrysler New Yorker, which comes complete with a hat holder?  I couldn't think of a better way to drive in style!If you ever find yourself in Redondo Beach, do stop by Ruby's for their cruise night.  With hot rods and cool ocean breezes, it's the perfect way to spend a Friday night!
