The Innovative 1937 Cord 812
Join us as we examine one of our vintage finds from the 2014 Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance…One of the most unique cars of its time is the 810 & 812, and this 1937 Cord 812 owned by Christopher and Katrina Cord of Ketchum, ID is one of the finest examples we have seen.The Cord automobile was produced by the Auburn Automobile Company, which was based in Indiana. The Cord brand brought about some innovations that that we still see in cars today. The L-29, the predecessor to the 810 and 812, brought about the first use of the of front wheel drive setup of an American made car. The 810 brought about another innovation with hidden headlights. Check out the pic above, they are the cutouts in the fantastic pontoon fenders.This supercharged 1937 was the last year of production of the Cords.There will be more soon from Greystone, so don't wander off!
