Mustang's 50th Anniversary at the Automobile Driving Museum
The Mustang has turned 50 this year, and to celebrate the Automobile Driving Museum had a get together. It brought out old and new Mustangs from all over Southern California, and included a display inside the museum as well.We were greeted by two stunning fast backs to help kick things off...Examples from every style and era graced the Automobile Driving Museum's front parking lot.The pony interior was a great compliment to the rest of the red and white classic. We loved the lean and mean stance of this Mach 1, and imagined what fun it would be to take out on the highway! So, it's not exactly a Mustang, but we loved that this sleek little Ford stopped by to join the party. We had the pleasure of seeing - and hearing - this Mustang leave the show... wow!We found this sleek beauty in a nearby lot, and while we snapped photos, the owner came by to move his car to an open spot in the display area. I'm sure show goers were happy they had a chance to see this stunner! The inside of the Automobile Driving Museum was filled with many a vintage beauties, including three early Mustangs, one of which was this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2...... followed by this 1964 1/2 convertible. We can't forget this 1964 1/2 Pace Car replica (the originals were all convertibles) either. This original hard top, made by the Ford Dearborn plant to help promote the new Mustang, was lovingly restored to its original condition.Originally there were 190 of these hardtops made, and today only 9 are know to exist.Hats off to the Automobile Driving Museum, whose Mustang Anniversary party was a fantastic kickoff to this classic's 50th year!
