Grand National Roadster Show 2013: Perfect Patina
Got a case of the Mondays? We can fix that. Vintage cars will make you feel better every time, so it's a good thing that we still have a bit more to show you this week from the Grand National Roadster Show. What's great about a large show that attracts a variety of vehicles is that you start to notice the different trends across the vehicles on display. In nearly every building, there were a variety of vehicles whose patinas really lent a depth of character to the car's design. At first glance, it seems like these cars are "in progress," and awaiting the next stages of restoration...Yet, upon closer inspection, it is clear that these finishes are a calculated part of the look of these vehicles.Details like these are not easy to achieve. In fact, they usually require far more work than a slick and shiny paint job.Aged to perfection, these patinas may look effortless, but each one was carefully created to add just the right richness, complimenting the era of the vehicle and transporting us to a bygone era. Well done - it seems as if these beauties were recovered from a midwestern barn just yesterday!Stay tuned for more Grand National Roadster Show goodness coming later this week!
