Hot Rod Hardware: Hillco's Super Cruise 2014
Hillco's Super Cruise is always a stellar show, and the 11th annual show was no exception. Hillco is one of the best places to find hardware for your automotive project, and this Sunday, Hillco fans turned out in droves to celebrate their love of cars.We showed up and found dazzling cars, like this Riviera, still arriving.Yep, we're are suckers for Novas, and we found not just one right away......but two, almost right next to each other. This classic gasser was ready to run! This classic Victoria has some graceful lines...... and its dash was absolutely exquisite. Here we found a little surprise under the hood in the form of a Corvette motor.Talk about going to the hardware store in style! No, this image is not reversed. This is a rare right-hand drive Nissan Fairlady.Another one of our favorite cars is the Willys Aero (okay, pretty much any Willys counts as a favorite for us). This one is a stock beauty, from front "W" emblem to rear taillight. The classic Cuda had something I had only heard of, but had never yet seen in person...... until today - a slant six under the hood!We turned a corner and found a trio of Ts.The first one in the photo had a little extra added feature that the others didn't - a special brake warning system. Genius, no?Lean and mean, we loved the raw and aggressive details on this modified Ford truck!Finding a second Willys at a car show was like hitting the automotive jackpot for us. We were beyond thrilled to see this wagon! We really felt for these guys, who were having a bad day. See the tool bag on the left? They spent their afternoon replacing the lower radiator hose.Is there anything more beautiful than a whole line of vintage steel to make your day? This '35 was on fire, in the form of some radiant flame details throughout. Here's a mode of transportation we didn't expect to see - a bike that is taller than the cars around it!This classic camper was filled with great details and ready for an adventure. We really liked the stickers and map of the U.S. This van was fill with memories of travels past. The lines of this Comet are just breathtaking.Future projects and rolling in-process projects were scattered throughout the show and shops around Hillco. We were lucky to run into a pack of Corvairs at the show.A priceless license plate to fly in the face of the man who killed the Corvair!Another Nova spotting, and this time, our favorite year, the 1963.Vintage hot rods were coming and going during the whole show. Part of the fun was seeing the new arrivals roll in, cruising for a parking spot. Thanks to Hillco for hosting a spectacular show! We look forward to next year's Super Cruise!
