Street Spot: 1966 Ford Custom 500
A regular feature here on The Daily Driver Project is the “Street Spot.” We love seeing vintage cars as daily drivers, out on the streets where they belong. When we see a vintage car worth sharing, we’ll post it as a Street Spot. Sometimes it will be a beauty, sometimes it will be a beater, but then again – even the beater cars are beautiful to us!So Sara is in Northern California visiting a friend, and what does she find? A 1966 Ford Custom 500, the budget friendly driver of its time. A four door for convenience and large enough to haul around the whole family. The 500 added a chrome trim package to step up its looks. The Ford Custom was also the ever-popular cop car of its time. But in this blue you see suburbia written all over it.
