Star Cars at the Petersen
Each month, the Petersen Automotive Museum hosts a Breakfast Club Cruise-In, and this month it was Star Cars. Star Car Central is a club dedicated to the movie cars we all know and love, and on Sunday morning, they filled the Petersen's upper deck with some impressive cars. One of our favorite car movies is Bullit with Steve McQueen, and this star car Mustang certainly does the film justice. This is our friend Dave Kunz's beautiful replica of the famous Bullit car, which he recently drove in this year"s Hollywood Christmas Parade. If you haven't seen Bullit or are just anxious to see it again, the Petersen has a screening of the movie on January 15th. Also, If you are a fan of Mustangs, don't miss the next Breakfast Cruise-In at the Petersen for Carol Shelby.Does this symbol give you an idea of what's next? That's right, it's the Batmobile from the Tim Burton film version of Batman. This one is equipped with all of the special toys! This classic Delorean from the Back to the Future films is perfectly outfitted to head straight back to any year it chooses! The classic Disney movie Herbie the Love Bug was represented by this picture-perfect Bug.Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!! The Ecto-1 was called in that morning to rid the Petersen of any unwanted ghosts.Even Steven King's Christine made a showing. While some of the star cars are replicas, this is actually one of the cars from the movie. The fun thing about movies is that they travel the world and influence others to build a Christine, just like our friends in Australia did. These aren't all the star cars on hand at the Petersen's Breakfast Cruise-In. Be sure to check back with us shortly as we bring you more stunning cars from the event!
