Works of Wood and Steel
It is rare that you don't find a woody at a car show in Southern California. They are synonymous with the wonderful weather and beach communities you find here.
Recently we found a trio of them at the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance. Each one of them a beautifully handcrafted car. That is right handcrafted, the steel bodies, engines and frames were produced using standard mass production processes, but the wood bodies were built by hand. It is rumored that do to the labor of building the bodies for the cars and their popularity Chrysler was breaking even or possibly loosing money on each car and was the reason that the cars were discontinued. We are glad their are beauties like this that still survive today.Don't change that dial there is more to come!
