Placentia Heritage Car Show 2013
This weekend was the 49th Annual Heritage Festival and Parade at Tri-City Park in Placentia, Ca. One fabulous part of this event is a car show, now in its 27th year. This little roadster was a definite head-turner. The red, black and white color theme ran throughout the car, and we particularly liked the checkerboard grille. You know we are a big fans of the Novas, and this was a great looking pro-touring beast. It had the heart of a Corvette and ...... rear wheels as deep as my forearm. The details on this Mercury were superb...Especially the embroidery of the logo from the original brochure. This stunning Cadillac sat off by itself, alone on a stretch of lawn. Its flat black body and gloss black roof were a winning combination. This MG was beautifully restored...The engine compartment was beautiful and well-kept - not a spec in sight! Can you spot this bubble-top in this Hot Rod pic? This pitch-perfect powdery blue was a gorgeous choice for this truck...From the Kugel suspension to the supercharged flat head, this is one cool roadster. The little personalized touches were fun to find on this roadster...
Another great looking flat head roadster...
We're suckers for interesting, custom-made grilles, and this one really took this roadster from good to great. This 57 Bel Air was beautiful, but ...... the engine compartment was simply stunning! The radiator support with giant intakes was intriguing!A piece of advice - do NOT mistake this car for an El Camino. If you do, this sticker will remind you that it is, in fact, a Ranchero.
The details of this Road Master were beautiful. Sara really liked how the paint scheme accentuated the body lines.
How often do you see a Messerschmitt at a car show? For us, this is the first (and we go to a lot of shows). This 1955 KR175 was a lot of fun to see and we bet is a even more fun to drive.
An interesting fact about this car, you push (not steer) it. There are rods directly from the steering wheel to control the direction.
The grille on this 1937 Olds was what first caught our eye, but the original details kept us staring at this exquisitely finished rod.Check out these fold away jump seats! The dash details were fabulous ...... including the Oldsmobile emblem.A beautiful day and an even better show - this is one event that we will keep on the calendar for years to come!
