Placentia Heritage Car Show 2013

This weekend was the 49th Annual Heritage Festival and Parade at Tri-City Park in Placentia, Ca. One fabulous part of this event is a car show, now in its 27th year.PTCCS13-IMG_5342rPTCCS13-IMG_5345rPTCCS13-IMG_5346rPTCCS13-IMG_5347rPTCCS13-IMG_5348rThis little roadster was a definite head-turner. The red, black and white color theme ran throughout the car, and we particularly liked the checkerboard grille.PTCCS13-IMG_5349rPTCCS13-IMG_5350rPTCCS13-IMG_5351rPTCCS13-IMG_5352rPTCCS13-IMG_5354rYou know we are a big fans of the Novas, and this was a great looking pro-touring beast.PTCCS13-IMG_5355rIt had the heart of a Corvette and ...PTCCS13-IMG_5356r... rear wheels as deep as my forearm.PTCCS13-IMG_5357rPTCCS13-IMG_5358rPTCCS13-IMG_5359rThe details on this Mercury were superb...PTCCS13-IMG_5360rEspecially the embroidery of the logo from the original brochure.PTCCS13-IMG_5363rPTCCS13-IMG_5364rPTCCS13-IMG_5365rPTCCS13-IMG_5366rPTCCS13-IMG_5367rPTCCS13-IMG_5368rPTCCS13-IMG_5369rThis stunning Cadillac sat off by itself, alone on a stretch of lawn. Its flat black body and gloss black roof were a winning combination.PTCCS13-IMG_5370rPTCCS13-IMG_5371rPTCCS13-IMG_5372rPTCCS13-IMG_5373rPTCCS13-IMG_5374rPTCCS13-IMG_5375rPTCCS13-IMG_5376rPTCCS13-IMG_5377rPTCCS13-IMG_5378rPTCCS13-IMG_5379rPTCCS13-IMG_5380rThis MG was beautifully restored...PTCCS13-IMG_5381rThe engine compartment was beautiful and well-kept - not a spec in sight!PTCCS13-IMG_5382rPTCCS13-IMG_5383rPTCCS13-IMG_5384rPTCCS13-IMG_5385rPTCCS13-IMG_5386rCan you spot this bubble-top in this Hot Rod pic?PTCCS13-IMG_5387rPTCCS13-IMG_5388rThis pitch-perfect powdery blue was a gorgeous choice for this truck...PTCCS13-IMG_5389rPTCCS13-IMG_5390rFrom the Kugel suspension to the supercharged flat head, this is one cool roadster.PTCCS13-IMG_5391rPTCCS13-IMG_5393rThe little personalized touches were fun to find on this roadster...

PTCCS13-IMG_5394rPTCCS13-IMG_5396rPTCCS13-IMG_5398rPTCCS13-IMG_5395rPTCCS13-IMG_5401rAnother great looking flat head roadster...

PTCCS13-IMG_5402rWe're suckers for interesting, custom-made grilles, and this one really took this roadster from good to great.PTCCS13-IMG_5403rPTCCS13-IMG_5404rPTCCS13-IMG_5405rPTCCS13-IMG_5407rThis 57 Bel Air was beautiful, but ...PTCCS13-IMG_5408r... the engine compartment was simply stunning!PTCCS13-IMG_5409rThe radiator support with giant intakes was intriguing!PTCCS13-IMG_5410rPTCCS13-IMG_5411rPTCCS13-IMG_5412rPTCCS13-IMG_5413rPTCCS13-IMG_5414rA piece of advice - do NOT mistake this car for an El Camino.  If you do, this sticker will remind  you that it is, in fact, a Ranchero.PTCCS13-IMG_5415rPTCCS13-IMG_5416rPTCCS13-IMG_5417rPTCCS13-IMG_5418rPTCCS13-IMG_5419rPTCCS13-IMG_5421r

PTCCS13-IMG_5420rPTCCS13-IMG_5422rPTCCS13-IMG_5423rPTCCS13-IMG_5424rPTCCS13-IMG_5425rThe details of this Road Master were beautiful. Sara really liked how the paint scheme accentuated the body lines.

PTCCS13-IMG_5426rPTCCS13-IMG_5428rPTCCS13-IMG_5429rPTCCS13-IMG_5430rPTCCS13-IMG_5432rHow often do you see a Messerschmitt at a car show? For us, this is the first (and we go to a lot of shows). This 1955 KR175 was a lot of fun to see and we bet is a even more fun to drive.

PTCCS13-IMG_5433rPTCCS13-IMG_5434rPTCCS13-IMG_5436rAn interesting fact about this car, you push (not steer) it. There are rods directly from the steering wheel to control the direction.
