OPG Classic Car Show
During the first weekend of April, Original Parts Group in Seal Beach, CA, hosted a killer classic car show, and it didn't take much to convince us to come out and cover the vintage goodness that graced the OPG parking lot...This 1968 GTO stood out from the others, as it still remains in the hands of the original owner. He ordered the car in August of 1967, selecting his options, including the power convertible top and the Verdoro green color. Taking delivery from a Fort Worth, TX, dealer on October 27, 1967, he paid $4,923.92, and still has the original sales papers. With over 200,000 original miles and no major repairs, our hats are off to this original owner, who has taken wonderful care of this classic. This clean Malibu was filled with fine detail - everything from the engine compartment to the interior was beautifully finished. We couldn't resist sneaking a peek inside the OPG showroom, hoping to see a classic car on display, and were greeted by this 1965 Malibu SS.We turned the corner and took a look into their massive warehouse, which included a few classic project cars waiting to become the next showroom beauty. And then, our attention turned to this hot rod...Owned by Tony Genty, OPG's COO, he sold two other hot rods and a Harley and moved into this classic. With cars like these, on display both inside the showroom and out in the parking lot, it's no wonder that Hot Rod TV was there to cover this show. OPG hosts several classic car shows each year, always drawing exquisite examples of classic car culture... and spending the afternoon in Seal Beach makes it even better!
