Military Style: The Pinzgauer 710M

Did we mention that the Friends of Steve McQueen featured many eclectic and fascinating vehicles?  Today we bring you another fabulous find, a Pinzgauer 710M.Production of this offroad military vehicle by Steyr-Daimler-Puch began in 1971 in Austria, and this 710M is a first-generation model.The Pinzgaurer served as a military vehicle in a variety of countries.  This 710M, owned by Tim Walder, had its tour of duty with the Swiss military before coming to America.Renowned for its reliability and ease of repairs, this 4x4 workhorse remains a popular choice as a military vehicle today.With an incredible payload, towing capability and the ability to travel nearly 250 miles on a single tank of gas, it is easy to see why these imports are snatched up by adventurous collectors!There are more fun & unusual vintage automotive finds to come... stay tuned!
