Joint Effort: 1961 Autobianchi Bianchina
Join us as we examine one of our vintage finds from the 2014 Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance…The Autobianchi was a joint effort between Bianchi, Pirelli and Fiat to produce a small car that started in 1955. This 1961 Autobianchi Bianchina Trasformabile owned by Victor Preisler of Los Angeles, CA is a fabulous example of that effort. The Bianchina had Fiat drivetrain from the Fiat 500 and a body designed by Bianchi with tires from Pirelli. It was Fiat's expansion into the small car market and a wonderful way for them to test out new product ideas before bringing them into the Fiat models of cars.In 1968 Autobianchi was fully taken over by Fiat due to issues internally within Bianchi. The Autobianchi lived on as a Fiat brand until its demise in 1996.Whether you are cruising around Italy or Southern California, this Bianchina is our kind of transportation. There will be more to come from Greystone Concours d'Elegance.
