Hot Roddin' in Hawaii
Thankfully, the classic car culture does not exclusively exist in just Southern California. You can find it all over the world, from other countries to other states and sometimes on beautiful islands - in this case, Maui. Our good friend Chris Davidson of Speed Boat Magazine, who lives in Maui, shared these awesome hot rod snaps with us.This is one clean 1941 Studebaker! Chris tells us it was built in Tennessee before being shipped to Maui. With a 350 under the hood and a 350 automatic to back it up, this is a cruiser and a perfect way to get around the island. But the real showstopper is the dash - a veneer by Aqua Blue Maui of paua or abalone shell - which we think is an absolute knockout. This is what hot rodding in Hawaii is all about, incorporating the wonder of the ocean into the car, without getting sand on your feet, of course. The Model A is a classic anywhere, and this full-fendered beauty is no exception. But it does have a leg up on most other Model As, as it gets to bask in the sun on Maui.So you don't like fenders on your Model A? Then how about this 1932...with a small block Chevy under the hood!Special thanks to Chris for the great pics from Maui, proving again that quality classic cars are everywhere! We're happy this is a hot rodder's world!
