Grand National Roadster Show: Cruise-In, Part I
At the GNRS, the indoors and Suede Palace delivered with some outstanding land speed racers, hot rods, rat rods and other assorted rolling pieces of art. But how can we forget the great outdoors?A rare sight - this International truck hot rod, in bright red, caught our attention while cruising the aisle of vintage steel. From the front, this truck just looked like a cab on a chassis...... but check this out - the cab is sporting a humpback from a car! This Sunbeam Alpine had a hidden gem under the hood...... an Ecotec motor running North and South.Venturing into the Galpin tent, we came across a crazy VW...... and an even crazier Milk Truck.Ridetech brought out one of their autocross cars for show and tell.Numbers, numbers, numbers...... all for the shock and brake setup for the car.Talk about a no-nonsense interior! We discovered even more numbers on the bumpers for the show setups for each corner. The classic roadster with a twist...... we were delighted to find a Hemi under the hood (well, if it had a hood). This year marks the 50th birthday of the Hemi, and this hot rod is celebrating in style!A work in progress, this Model A was well on its way to being a showstopper.Check out how clean the wiring install is! As always, So-Cal Speed Shop's level of detail is bar-none.And now for something a little different - a lifted Willys Truck. We are big fans of all things Willys, and this truck was no exception.Stay tuned for part II of all things outdoors at the Grand National Roadster Show, coming soon!
