Frankly Speaking: The 1915 Franklin Series 8

Join us as we examine one of our vintage finds from the 2014 Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance...This 1915 Franklin Series 8 is owned by Robert Webb of Redondo Beach, Ca.Franklin Motor Co. produced vehicles for just over three decades, between the years of 1902 and 1934.Over 150,000 Franklins were produced in the 30+ years of the company's history.  Less than 3,500 Franklins still exist today.The Franklin has long been touted as an engineering marvel.  A nearly 100 year-old study on their fuel economy revealed that they averaged 40.9 MPG!  While the Franklin Motor Co. became a casualty of the Great Depression, these Franklins live on, continuing to survive and thrive in today's modern world - and we couldn't be more thankful.Stay tuned for more discoveries from the 2014 Greystone Concours!
