Downtown Burbank Car Classic 2013
With an advertisement of "200 classic cars, six beautiful blocks and one beautiful downtown" - we couldn't resist! This past weekend, we spent a splendid Saturday afternoon at the Downtown Burbank Car Classic, which was a stunning show filled with quality vintage cars...If you love Corvairs as much as we do, be sure to check out this one that we met at the Temecula Rod Run earlier this year. This John Deere-themed truck was a stunner, and just happened to be the poster truck for last year's Downtown Burbank Car Classic.Anyone for a vintage hearse? The length on this hauler was incredible! If you missed the stunning hearse overhaul we saw at the Hot Rod show earlier this year, be sure to check it out here. There were so many hoods popped at this show, and so many gorgeous engine compartments to see!The pillows speak the truth. Anyone driving or riding in this vintage beauty really is living life to the fullest! This 1960 Edsel Ranger is an ultra-rare beauty. A 2-door hard top, this is only one of 243 ever produced. As if this one couldn't be more valuable, it has a mere 43,000 miles on the odometer!Wouldn't you feel a little better about getting a speeding ticket if this was the cop car to chase you down? Maybe that's just me, but I certainly think it would help ease the pain of a ticket!
Didn't expect to see the Scooby Doo van in this post, did you? We didn't either. Both Warner Brothers and the Petersen Automotive Museum had cars on display at this event, including...The latest Batman vehicle (a little boy asked a Warner Bros. employee if it actually drove - she confirmed that it did)...And the classic General Lee...And, parked nearby, looking like it certainly could have been a movie car, was this French stunner that we last saw at the Grand National Roadster show. Now, if I could only catch a glimpse of this baby on the highway... that would make my summer! It was our first time attending the Downtown Burbank Car Classic, and it won't be our last. The City of Burbank did a wonderful job of organizing and hosting this event. We highly recommend that you add it to your must-attend car show list for next year!
