Corvettes... Continued!

While the cars celebrating in the Petersen's parking lot structure couldn't stay longer than a day, the ones showcased inside the museum will be around a bit longer.  Never a museum to disappoint, the Petersen chose the finest Corvettes to delight museum goers and Corvette fans alike...IMG_0251IMG_0262IMG_0269IMG_0272

One thing the Petersen excels at is tracking down the little details that add incredible depth to the vehicles they display...IMG_1683If you look closely at this original itemized sales receipt, you'll notice the 360 V8 cost $484.20.  Before the itemizations, the base cost for this Corvette was $4038, and the final cost totaled $5509.40.

When I daydream about stepping back in time, it's always to chase after a vintage car in the context of its heyday.  In my current daydream, it's a bright and sunny morning in 1962, and I'm at CS Mead Motors on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, CA, with cash in hand to buy a car... just like this one.
