Corvettes... Continued!

While the cars celebrating in the Petersen's parking lot structure couldn't stay longer than a day, the ones showcased inside the museum will be around a bit longer.  Never a museum to disappoint, the Petersen chose the finest Corvettes to delight museum goers and Corvette fans alike...

One thing the Petersen excels at is tracking down the little details that add incredible depth to the vehicles they display...If you look closely at this original itemized sales receipt, you'll notice the 360 V8 cost $484.20.  Before the itemizations, the base cost for this Corvette was $4038, and the final cost totaled $5509.40.

When I daydream about stepping back in time, it's always to chase after a vintage car in the context of its heyday.  In my current daydream, it's a bright and sunny morning in 1962, and I'm at CS Mead Motors on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, CA, with cash in hand to buy a car... just like this one.
