10 Years
It’s hard to believe that as of today I’ve been doing this for 10 years. It all started with the crazy and not so fitting name, The Daily Driver Project, on January 3, 2013. Well it kind of fit, the idea was that old cars are great daily drivers too. So a website was built and my friend Sara and I headed to car events, visited museums and kept an eye out for those cool classics driving around sunny Southern California. After awhile Sara had other things going on in life and I continued. The idea of what this thing was and would be became refined. The website and now a YouTube channel grew what I was doing. In 2018 I stepped from behind the camera to in front of it for my videos and coined the saying “It’s Car Show Day!” which I didn’t expect to catch on like it has. It was now all about covering car shows all over Southern California as well as sharing Street Spots on the site. I got to the point of doing close or over 100 events a year including car shows, cruise-ins, cruise nights and any other type of car event I could find. Then in 2020 it was time for a new name that fit more of what everything had turned into. So on December 6th, 2020 the name was changed to Nostalgia Highway. I so look forward to this continuing on until I can’t do it anymore.
The very first post on the site was about a red F100 that was spotted not far from home.
This is the one that started it all. Sara and I were at lunch and talking about the idea of the website and sharing car shows and street spots. As we walked back to the car after lunch this very cool Riviera was parked on the street. Almost like a sign that the idea was a good one.
